What is a good web based CRM product for a small business?

Can you answer declan12's question about CRM?:

A friend is currently using ACT, and is looking for a way to share the act database between multiple locations. I think a web based solution is the way to go for their small business. Are there any web based CRM solutions out there?

There are literally, TOO MANY web based CRM programs to list here. If you go to our site, http://www.smartaboutsales.com you will find a handy CRM Software Selection tool (its free). Pick the features that are important to you, and you'll get an instant list of matching software. You can also use the feature list as a tool for internal discussion to get agreement on what your needs are. One thing to keep in mind. There is no such thing as FREE software. There are high costs associated with the time you invest in rolling out the software. Get a short-list of programs based on the selection tool, then trial them each with the same mock scenarios to see which ones work best for you. Good luck

sugarcrm is one solution, it's free and open source.

If you're looking for a way to extend Act, personal crm has been doing that for several years.

How about SugarCRM. it's a Open Source CRM, but it's very complete feature. There's 3 Edition of licence. Open source, professional and enterprise (look at ). SugarCRM is build base on PHP. So you only need internet explorer to access this, no additional software. And there's many people create the module for this CRM. You can add your module into SugarCRM.Go to
Other CRM is CiviCRM based on Drupal CMS. but it's still new and beta. many bug when the first beta edition installation.

You might want to look at absoluteBUSY web CRM. It is simple and one of the fastest web based products. It is not free, but pretty cheap and runs on any webserver with PHP and MySQL. Free evaluation versions are available. There is also a LIVE demo on the website.
